Please read through the contents of this Privacy Policy carefully and ensure that you understand it. If you do not understand the contents of this Privacy Policy, or if you do not accept or agree to it, please do not access the Site, beginning immediately. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

ImmiTranslate operates this Site to provide its visitors and users (“you,” “your”) with information about our company and our interpretation, translation, and document-related services (the "Services").  We also use the Site to provide the Services. ImmiTranslate collects and holds information about individuals for the purpose of advertising, providing, evaluating, and improving the Services.

This Privacy Policy sets forth ImmiTranslate's current policies and practices with respect to information, including Personal Information, collected from visitors and users of the Site and Services.

Personal Information

When you interact with us through the Site, the Services, by email, or through recruiting platforms, we may collect Personal Information and other information from you. “Personal Information” is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. Personal Information can include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Your name
  • Your postal address
  • Your email address
  • Your telephone number
  • Your job title and employer
  • Your payment card number(s) and related billing information

You may choose to voluntarily provide Personal Information directly to us through various sections of our Services, such as the pages of the Site that allow you to place an order. You may also choose to provide Personal Information to us when you create an account to access Services, use certain Services, contact us by email or mail, or respond to our surveys or promotions. Wherever ImmiTranslate collects Personal Information, we make an effort to provide a link to this Privacy Policy.

We may collect Personal Information from you when you participate in any contractual agreement with us and when you interact with us online or at events. We may also obtain Personal Information from various sources, such as publicly available databases, joint marketing partners, lead-generation services and databases, entities to which we provide Services, and social media platforms.

We also collect Personal Information to provide certain Services, such as translations. When you provide Personal Information to us that identifies or may be used to identify other individuals, you represent that you have the authority to do so and authorize us to use that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

If you do not have such lawful basis, you must pseudonymize or redact Personal Information concerning children under the age of 16 before submitting documents for translation.

Processor and Controller Data

ImmiTranslate presently collects and processes two distinct types of data that can contain Personal Information.

  • Data that users of our Services (“Customers”) ask us to translate or otherwise process for them (“Processor Data”). When ImmiTranslate processes Personal Information on behalf of a Customer, ImmiTranslate is the “processor” of the data under applicable law, and the Customer is the “controller.”
  • Data, including Personal Information, which we process for ImmiTranslate’s business (“Controller Data”), other than for our recruiting operations. This includes, for example, the information we collect through the Site and the names and contact information of our Customers and vendors. Under applicable law, ImmiTranslate is the “controller” of this data.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information Contained in Processor Data

We receive Processor Data from or on behalf of our Customers. Because of the nature of the Services, this Processor Data may contain any type of Personal Information.

We will process Personal Information contained in Processor Data only (1) with your consent; (2) to perform a contract between you and us; (3) to comply with a legal obligation; or (4) where we have a legitimate interest to do so, balancing this interest against your interests and fundamental rights.  Collectively, we will refer to these legitimate interests in processing your Personal Information as “Business Purposes.”

ImmiTranslate and our service providers use Personal Information from our Processor Data for various such Business Purposes, which include:

  • Providing the Services. We may use Personal Information contained within Processor Data to fulfill your order (i.e., provide a translation service).
  • Securing the Site and Services. We may use Personal Information contained within Processor Data to attempt to detect and prevent fraud, data, breaches, cyberattacks, and identity theft.

We may disclose Personal Information contained in our Processor Data:

  • To our third-party service providers. ImmiTranslate uses third-party service providers for various business functions. These functions include hosting our website, data analysis, information technology support, customer service, email delivery, translating, compliance, auditing, and other functions related to providing, improving, and expanding the Services.
  • To comply with laws and regulations that apply to us. We serve an international audience, and may use your Personal Information to comply with laws that are not the laws of your country of residence.
  • To cooperate with government authorities and law enforcement. We may disclose your Personal Information if we are issued a subpoena, warrant, court order, or other request for information that we believe is important. These government authorities and law enforcement agents or bodies may not be those of your country of residence.
  • To enforce our Terms and Conditions and other contractual rights.
  • To protect the rights, safety, privacy, property, and security of ImmiTranslate, our affiliates and partners, you, or others.
  • To facilitate or complete a sale, transfer, dissolution, unwinding, or other substantial reorganization of our business or its assets, in whole or in part. We may disclose your Personal Information to—for example—a business entity that acquires, buys, merges with, or seizes ImmiTranslate or any of its assets.

ImmiTranslate will make reasonable efforts to notify you before disclosing your Personal Information contained in Processor Data to government authorities, to law enforcement, or in response to a subpoena or similar demand.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information Contained in Controller Data

We will process Personal Information contained in our Controller Data only (1) with your consent; (2) to perform a contract between you and us; (3) to comply with a legal obligation; or (4) where we have a legitimate interest to do so, balancing this interest against your interests and fundamental rights.  Collectively, we will refer to these legitimate interests in processing your Personal Information as “Business Purposes.”

ImmiTranslate and our service providers use Personal Information from our Controller Data for various such Business Purposes, which include:

We use that information to create and maintain your account, process your payment, coordinate efforts with our service providers, fulfill your order, and provide customer support.
  • Responding to your communications. When you submit an inquiry via an online form or email, we use Personal Information to respond. Those inquiries include your questions, suggestions, concerns, or other feedback.
  • Providing notices and administrative information. We use Personal Information to send administrative information, such as receipts, invoices, records of transactions, and notices regarding changes to the Services or our terms and policies, to you.
  • Distributing our marketing materials, promotional materials, and surveys. You may unsubscribe from marketing and promotional emails by selecting the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of these emails, or by contacting us at support@immitranslate.com at any time.

We disclose Personal Information contained in our Controller Data:

  • To our third-party service providers. ImmiTranslate uses third-party service providers for various business functions. These functions include hosting our website, data analysis, information technology support, customer service, email delivery, translating, compliance, auditing, and other functions related to providing, improving, and expanding the Services.
  • To the public. When you voluntarily disclose Personal Information in reviews, ratings, testimonials, and other public comments on our Site, Reviews.io, TrustPilot, and our social media pages, that information is available to the public. Please note that any information you provide through any of these means may be impossible to fully delete or retrieve.
