What to include with a UK visa translation

Check the translation instructions for your visa route and include them with your documents. For example, the UK government's visitor guidance requires a full translation of documents that are not in English or Welsh, with information that allows the Home Office to verify it independently.

That visitor guidance calls for an accuracy confirmation, translation date, the translator's full name and signature, and contact details. Share the current instructions with your request so the proposed output can be checked against them before you order. A certification label alone does not explain every detail a recipient has requested.

This is a visitor-route example, not a statement that every UK application uses identical instructions. Follow the guidance for the application you are making and any specific request you have received. Translating your records does not establish visa eligibility or guarantee the decision. Keep application and evidence questions with the appropriate adviser or receiving authority.

Records supporting your application

Send the records you have selected from your application instructions. Depending on the request, these may include bank statements, civil records, employment documents or academic records. Include the whole document and any attachments that belong with it, rather than a crop of the information you think matters most.

Identify the period covered by a financial record and label records for different applicants. If a document has a reverse side or notes on an extra page, include those too. These examples help describe a translation packet; they are not a universal list of evidence required for a UK visa.

Share the details already used in your application

Provide the name spellings already used in your application, especially where the source language uses a different script. Tell us which applicant each document concerns and identify the source and target languages. If your recipient has supplied document labels or reference numbers, include those instructions with the relevant files.

Flag any difference between the source and another record. Translation should follow the supplied document, not rewrite its facts to make an application consistent. Questions about whether financial evidence is sufficient, or which record should be submitted, need to be resolved through your application guidance or adviser.

Get a quote for your document set

Upload the complete document set and state the deadline you are working toward. Include your visa route and the recipient's translation instructions so the quote can address the files and requested deliverable together. If you need another language version for a separate recipient, identify it as a separate requirement.

Check the quoted scope and delivery details before ordering. If an additional document is requested later, send the new file with the updated instructions. Our bank statement, birth certificate, passport and academic transcript pages also provide direct starting points when you need one of those records translated on its own.
