Hindi asylum documents translation for an I-589, a credible fear interview or a hearing in immigration court. Claims from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh rest on a few papers: the FIR a police station registered or refused, a medico-legal report from a government hospital, a party or union membership card, a letter from the gram pradhan and a clipping from a Hindi daily. We translate each in full into certified English.
An asylum officer reads the file for whether the documents agree with the declaration. Hindi police and hospital forms are dense with section numbers, ranks and abbreviations that have to come across exactly.
The FIR and the sections it cites
The प्रथम सूचना रिपोर्ट, the First Information Report, is the paper most claims turn on. It carries the थाना and district, the FIR number, the sections charged, the accused by name or as अज्ञात, unknown, and a narrative in the complainant's words as the officer wrote it down. The informant is entitled to a free copy. We keep the act and section as printed and add the English name of the offence. The narrative is translated word for word, because the judge compares its dates, names and order of events with your declaration.
Hospital and village paper
An injury after an attack produces a medico-legal certificate from a government hospital or a community health centre, with the doctor's handwritten findings and the weapon as described. Letters from a gram pradhan, a sarpanch or a ward councillor come on letterhead with a round seal and vouch for who you are and what happened in the village. A caste certificate from the tehsildar matters in a Dalit claim, and a baptism entry or a pastor's letter in a claim from a convert in Uttar Pradesh or Madhya Pradesh, where anti-conversion laws are in force. Each is translated as its own document with its seal and signature described.
Newspaper clippings and political cards
Hindi dailies report local violence with names, and a clipping from Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, Hindustan, Rajasthan Patrika or Dainik Bhaskar is common evidence. We translate the headline, the dateline, the article and the caption, and the certification names the paper, the edition and the date so the officer can find it. A membership card from a party, a union, a student body or a kisan group gives the organisation's Hindi name and the holder's post. We translate the post literally, since the gap between a ward member and a district president is the gap between a bystander and a target.
Who is asking for your Hindi asylum documents translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS asylum offices
USCIS asks for a complete English translation of every foreign-language document and a signed certification from the translator. No notarization is needed.
An immigration judge expects each exhibit translated in full and certified, filed with the original. Courts refuse summaries, so every page you file is translated whole.
Refugee claims in Canada accept a certified translation with the translator's affidavit. Order the certified translation and add notarization if your application guide asks for it.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Hindi asylum documents.
01
Send every page, including the envelopes
Police reports, threat letters, medical reports and newspaper clippings each count. Postmarks and envelopes show when and where a letter was sent, so scan them too.
02
Keep handwritten pages readable
Letters and notes are often handwritten. Photograph each page flat in good light, and tell us any names or places that are hard to make out.
03
Give us the names as your application spells them
Your I-589 fixes the English spelling of your name and of each family member. Tell us that spelling so every document in the file matches.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Hindi asylum documents translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the asylum documents is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
My FIR is a faint photocopy of Hindi handwriting. Can you work from it?
Usually, yes. Send the best scan or photo you have at full size, both sides, and the typed version if the station gave you one. We translate every word that can be read and mark the rest as illegible rather than guessing at a name or a section number. The certification describes the original as a photocopy. If a relative in India can get a certified copy from the court or the station, that copy is clearer and is worth adding later.
The police refused to register my complaint. What paper shows that?
Most applicants have the written complaint itself with a receiving stamp or a registered post receipt showing it went to the Superintendent of Police, and some have an application to the magistrate asking the court to order the police to register the case, with the court's order on it. Each of those is dated, names the station and names the accused, and together they show you tried. We translate the complaint, the receipt, the application and any order as separate documents in one certified set.
My bail order is partly in Hindi and partly in English. Which part do you translate?
All of it. District and sessions courts in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan write their orders in Hindi, while High Court orders are mostly English with a Hindi court seal and a Hindi cause title. We translate the Hindi, reproduce the English and certify the page as one order, with the case number, the sections and the conditions of bail kept exactly, because an immigration judge reads the conditions as evidence of what the state believes you did.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
