Hindi transcript translation to English for WES, ECE, a university admissions office, a school district or a licensing board. We translate the अंक पत्र from the UP Board, the MP Board, the Rajasthan Board and the Bihar School Examination Board, and the semester marksheets of Hindi-medium degrees from state universities, with every mark and division carried over as printed.
A marksheet from a Hindi-speaking state board is a dense table in Devanagari, and the words around the numbers decide what an evaluator makes of it.
The columns
The UP Board's अंक पत्र सह प्रमाण पत्र for High School and Intermediate lists each subject with पूर्णांक, the maximum, and प्राप्तांक, the marks obtained, often split between सैद्धांतिक and प्रायोगिक, theory and practical, then योग for the total and श्रेणी for the division. Subject names are in Hindi: गणित is Mathematics, विज्ञान is Science, सामाजिक विज्ञान is Social Science. The translation gives each heading and subject in English and leaves every number where it sits.
Division, not GPA
Indian boards report a percentage and a division: प्रथम श्रेणी, first division, at sixty and above, द्वितीय at forty-five, तृतीय at thirty-three, which is also the pass mark, with उत्तीर्ण for passed and अनुत्तीर्ण for failed. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh use the same scheme with small differences, and the Bihar board prints a grade beside the marks. We translate the division words and, where the marksheet prints its own key, translate the key. Turning marks into a US grade is the evaluator's work.
Roll numbers, year and the back of the sheet
Every marksheet carries an अनुक्रमांक, the roll number, the examination year, the school code and name, and the secretary's facsimile signature, and the reverse often carries the board's rules or a duplicate-copy stamp. Evaluators match the roll number against the certificate and the school's records, so it is kept exactly. Send both sides. A Hindi-medium BA or BSc marksheet adds the semester, paper codes and a result line, and a sheet that runs past 250 words counts as two pages.
Who is asking for your Hindi academic transcript translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Credential evaluators
WES, ECE and similar services ask for a word-for-word certified translation of each page, sent alongside the official transcript.
Admissions offices and school districts accept a certified translation they can read next to the original. A PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Hindi academic transcript.
01
Send the official copy
An evaluator wants the sealed transcript from the registrar, not a self-printed grade list. Order the translation from the same copy the school issues.
02
Include the grading legend
The scale, the pass mark and the credit system are usually printed at the foot or on the back. Send that part too so it is translated with the grades.
03
Expect more than one page per sheet
A transcript sheet holds far more than 250 words. The quote counts words, not sheets, so a two-sheet transcript may price as four or five pages.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Hindi academic transcript translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the academic transcript is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
WES wants my marksheets sent by the university. Do I still need your translation?
For India, WES asks the institution to send marksheets directly and asks for an English translation of anything not in English. Your UP Board or Hindi-medium university marksheet is the part that needs translating; a CBSE or ICSE marksheet has its entries in English and usually does not. Order the translation from a clear copy of the same marksheet so the pages match what the board sends.
Can you translate the transfer certificate with the marksheet?
Yes. The स्थानांतरण प्रमाण पत्र, the TC or school leaving certificate, records the date of leaving, the last class passed and the date of birth as entered in the admission register. US school districts use it to place a child, and adults use it as early proof of a date of birth. It is usually handwritten in Hindi on a printed form and fits on one page.
My degree marksheets are in English but the subjects are in Hindi. What do you translate?
Only the Hindi. Many state universities print the headings in English and the paper titles in Hindi, especially for Hindi literature, Sanskrit and education degrees, or stamp an English marksheet with a Hindi seal. We translate the Hindi paper titles and seals and certify the sheet as a whole, with the English entries kept as printed.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
