Punjabi apostille translation for documents from Indian Punjab that carry an MEA apostille, and for Pakistani papers apostilled in Islamabad. We translate the Gurmukhi or Shahmukhi document and every stamp stacked on it, and carry over the English apostille exactly, so the reader sees one complete record.
The stamps a Punjab document collects before it travels
An apostille certifies a signature, not the content. The Punjabi part of the page is the document itself, and that is what needs translating.
Chandigarh first, then New Delhi
A birth, marriage or police certificate from Punjab is usually attested by the state government in Chandigarh before the Ministry of External Affairs adds its apostille. That leaves a district registrar's Gurmukhi seal, a state attestation stamp and the MEA sticker on one sheet. We translate each Punjabi stamp and endorsement where it sits, so the order of signatures stays visible.
Pakistani Punjab since 2023
Pakistan joined the Apostille Convention in 2023, and its Ministry of Foreign Affairs now apostilles documents that used to need embassy legalization. Most of those records are in Urdu. The Shahmukhi Punjabi turns up in affidavits, village elders' letters and older union council entries, and we translate those lines alongside the Urdu.
When the translation itself needs an apostille
Some foreign offices want the English translation apostilled too, not just the original. A translation cannot be apostilled on its own, but a notarized one can: the Secretary of State of the notary's state apostilles the notary's signature. Order notarization as an add-on and we send the hard copy you need for that step.
Who is asking for your Punjabi apostille translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Registries and courts abroad
A civil registry, a court or a notary in another country reads the apostille as proof the US document is genuine, and wants the whole set translated into its language. Tell us the country in the order notes.
Consulates processing a citizenship, marriage or residency application accept a certified translation of the apostilled document. Add notarization at checkout if the checklist asks for it.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Punjabi apostille.
01
Send the apostille with the document it certifies
An apostille is a page stapled or glued to another document. Upload both, since the recipient reads the apostille only as proof that the document under it is genuine.
02
Scan the apostille whole, including the seal
The ten numbered fields, the seal and the signature of the issuing officer are what a foreign registry checks. Keep the full page in frame, including any ribbon or embossed stamp.
03
Get the apostille before you order
The translation has to cover the apostille page too. Have it issued first and then upload the complete set, so nothing is missing from the translation.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Punjabi apostille translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the apostille is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
No. USCIS does not ask for apostilles on civil documents from India. It needs a full English translation with a signed certification, which we include. An apostille matters when the document is going to a third country, a foreign consulate or certain US courts, so check with the office that asked before paying for one.
Do you translate the apostille sticker too?
The MEA sticker is already in English apart from its French heading, so we carry it over exactly, number and all, and translate the French title. The work is in the Gurmukhi underneath: the registrar's entries, the seals and any handwritten endorsement. The state attestation stamp is often bilingual.
I need to send a US document to Punjab. Does it need Punjabi?
Usually not. Indian courts, sub-registrars and banks work with English, so a US power of attorney or death certificate going to Punjab normally needs the apostille from your Secretary of State, not a translation. If a Punjab office does ask for Gurmukhi, we translate from English into Punjabi and certify it.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
