Tagalog Text messages for court English Certified translation CERTIFIED TRANSLATION

Written for Tagalog text messages for court records

How Filipinos write when they text

Filipino texting has its own spelling, built in the years when every SMS cost money. Many of those shortcuts stuck, and most chats switch between Tagalog and English inside one sentence.

Shortened spelling

Ko becomes q, naman becomes nmn, dito becomes d2, and po, the particle of respect, turns into p0 or disappears. A message like sna ok k lng jan reads sana okay ka lang diyan: I hope you are all right there. We expand each one in the translation and add the original in brackets only where the reading is open.

Taglish inside one line

When a message says nag-dinner kami tapos umuwi na, part of it is already English. We translate the Tagalog, keep the English and mark the words that were English in the original, so a reader sees how the sender actually wrote. That matters when a petitioner says the couple spoke mostly English together, or when a lawyer argues about what a phrase meant.

Endearments and family titles

Couples write mahal, babe, hon or langga, a Cebuano endearment used well beyond Cebu. Family chats put ate, kuya, tita and lola before names as titles. These carry relationship information an officer reading a K-1 file is looking for, so we keep the word, translate it, and note when it is a title rather than a name. Slang like charot or lodi gets its meaning, not a literal gloss.

Who is asking for your Tagalog text messages for court translation?

The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.

USCIS

Messages filed as proof of a relationship or of a threat need a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator. No notarization is needed.

USCIS translation requirements

Courts

Family, criminal and civil courts admit translated messages with a signed certification, and some judges want it notarized. Each message is translated in full with its date and sender.

Certified translations

Insurers

An insurer handling a claim may ask for messages that show when an accident was reported or what was agreed. A certified translation they can read next to the screenshots is enough.

Before you upload

Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Tagalog text messages for court.

01

Export the thread, do not retype it

Screenshots or a phone export keep the sender, the date and the time on each message. Those details are what a court or USCIS checks, so keep them in the file.

02

Keep the conversation complete and in order

Send the whole thread from the first message to the last, including the ones that do not help your case. A thread with gaps is easier to challenge.

03

Tell us who each contact is

Phone screens show nicknames and numbers. Give us the full name behind each contact so the translation can identify the speakers.

Tagalog Text Messages For Court FAQ

Most questions about pricing and turnaround can be answered faster by requesting a quote.

Request a Quote

How many messages should I send for a K-1 petition?
USCIS wants evidence of a real relationship and that you met in person within the two years before filing. A sample works better than a year of chats: messages around your visits, your plans to marry and ordinary daily contact. Each page of up to 250 words is $25, so choose the screenshots that show those things.
Do you translate stickers, emojis and voice messages?
We translate what is written on the screen. A sticker or emoji is described in brackets, such as [sticker: heart], and a photo with a caption gets the caption translated. Voice notes are audio rather than text, so ask us before including them in an order.
What format do you need the chats in?
Clear screenshots with the date header visible, or an export from Messenger or Viber. Full-screen screenshots keep the sender's name and timestamps; cropped ones often lose them. We lay the translation out in the same order, one message per line with sender and time, so it matches your screenshot exhibit.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
