Chinese affidavit translation for USCIS, a US court, a probate case or an office in China. Mainland law has no sworn affidavit; what you hold is usually a 声明书 whose signature a 公证处 has certified, a 亲属关系公证 in which the notary certifies a fact, or a 委托书 power of attorney. We translate each into certified English, and US affidavits into Chinese for the 民政局, a 不动产登记中心 or a Chinese court.

What a Chinese 公证书 vouches for
A PRC notary office is a state body, and its certificate does one of two things: certifies that a person signed a statement, or certifies that a fact is true. A US reader needs to know which, and the translation makes it plain.
声明书公证: the signature, not the facts
A 声明书 (declaration) or 承诺书 is written by the person, signed in front of the 公证员, and bound with a certificate reading 兹证明某某于某年某月某日在本处签署了前面的声明书, that the person signed the declaration in the notary's presence. The notary does not vouch for the content. Many end with 本人对以上声明的真实性负责, taking responsibility for the truth, and that line, not an oath, is what gives the statement weight. We translate the declaration, the certificate and the 公证员 signature and office seal, and we keep the certificate wording close enough that a US judge sees its limit.
亲属关系公证 and other certificates of fact
For an I-130 where no birth record ties a parent to a child, or for an inheritance, families use a 亲属关系公证, in which the notary states from 户口 and 派出所 records that one person is the parent of another. Under the 公证法 a certified fact is evidence unless disproved, so this paper is stronger than a US affidavit and should not be labelled as one. The same family of certificates includes the 未婚公证 or 无婚姻登记记录证明 for single status and the 放弃继承权声明书 for giving up an inheritance. The English title we give names the certificate type.
委托书: the power of attorney that stays abroad
A 委托书 is the document people most often send from the US to China: to sell an apartment, to collect a 公积金 balance, to handle a 户口 or a lawsuit. It names the 委托人, the 受托人 and the 委托事项 in a fixed list, and a 不动产登记中心 reads that list literally, so a power to 出售 does not cover 出租. We translate a Chinese 委托书 for a US bank or court, and check the English of one written here before it is notarized, apostilled and translated for the Chinese office.
Who is asking for your Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified affidavit translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS
Affidavits standing in for a missing birth or marriage record are accepted with a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator. No notarization is needed.
A court admits a translated affidavit with the translator's signed certification, and many ask for it notarized. Add notarization at checkout if the clerk asks for it.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified affidavit.
01
Send the signed and notarized version
An affidavit is the sworn statement plus the notary block, stamp and seal. Upload the executed copy, with every exhibit it refers to, not the draft.
02
Give us the names as the passport spells them
The affiant, the notary and anyone named in the statement keep their names as written, with your English spelling noted, so the recipient can match the affidavit to the rest of the file.
03
Tell us where it is going
A court, USCIS and a foreign registry each want the certification handled differently. Say which in the order notes and we match the format.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified affidavit translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the affidavit is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
I am a US citizen marrying in China. What affidavit do I need and in what language?
The 民政局 婚姻登记处 asks a foreign party for proof of being unmarried. For Americans that is a sworn affidavit of marital status, since no US office issues a single-status certificate. Sign it before a US notary, have it apostilled by the Secretary of State of that state (consular legalization ended for the mainland in November 2023), and bring a Chinese translation of the affidavit and the apostille.
Does USCIS accept a 声明书 from a relative in China as evidence?
Yes, as a third-party statement. Letters from parents, friends or a 居委会 appear in I-130 marriage files, VAWA petitions and naturalization cases, and they arrive as a handwritten 声明 with a thumbprint, or typed and notarized as a 声明书公证. We translate the statement, any 身份证 copy attached, the notary pages and the seals. Notarization is not required for USCIS to read it; the officer weighs the letter, and our certification is what lets it be read.
Can you translate my US affidavit or power of attorney into Chinese for a court or a property sale?
Yes. A Chinese court, a 公证处 or a 不动产登记中心 wants the English document notarized, apostilled and translated, and the 受托人 in China hands in all three. Courts in some provinces require the translation to come from an agency on the court's list, and a 登记中心 may ask for a 翻译专用章. Tell us the office at checkout. We translate into Chinese and can notarize the translation.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
