Polish bank statement translation for a visa interview, an I-864 or I-134, a university's proof of funds, a US mortgage lender or a landlord, and into Polish for an urząd wojewódzki. We translate the wyciąg z rachunku, the historia operacji and the zaświadczenie o stanie środków from any Polish bank.
Polish banks issue the monthly wyciąg as a PDF from e-banking, and most of what confuses a US reader is in the formatting rather than the words.
Numbers, dates and the złoty
Amounts use a decimal comma and a space for thousands, so 12 345,67 zł is twelve thousand three hundred forty-five złoty and sixty-seven groszy. Dates run day first. The account is a 26-digit NRB, which becomes the IBAN with PL in front. The translation keeps every figure as printed, writes PLN beside the amounts and never converts to dollars; a consular officer or lender converts at their own rate, and a converted figure on a certified translation invites questions. A EUR or USD subaccount stays on its own lines.
Operation types an underwriter asks about
Polish statement lines are terse: przelew przychodzący and wychodzący, wpłata gotówkowa and wypłata, BLIK for a phone payment, polecenie zapłaty for a direct debit, prowizja for a fee, blokada for a pending card hold. A payroll deposit reads wynagrodzenie with the employer's name, and lines to ZUS and to the Urząd Skarbowy are social insurance and tax, which a mortgage underwriter wants labelled. We translate the description on every line and keep the counterparty names in Polish.
No stamp, and why that is normal
A PDF wyciąg carries no signature or stamp. Most banks print a line saying the statement was generated electronically under art. 7 of the Prawo bankowe and needs neither, and we translate that line so the recipient understands why it is missing. If a recipient insists on a stamped paper, a branch will issue a zaświadczenie o posiadaniu rachunku or o stanie środków, which states the balance on a given day, and we translate that as a separate page.
Who is asking for your Polish bank statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS and the National Visa Center
Affidavit of support and consular processing cases take bank statements with a complete English translation and a signed certification. No notarization is needed.
UKVI asks for a certified translation of any document not in English, with the translator's details and the date on it. Statements for the maintenance requirement are the usual request.
A mortgage lender or a landlord checking income accepts a certified translation of your statements. Digital delivery as a PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Polish bank statement.
01
Download the statement rather than photographing it
A PDF from online banking is sharper than a photo and keeps every figure legible. If you only have paper, scan each page flat with the header and the closing balance in frame.
02
Send a complete period
A consulate or a lender names the months it wants. Send every page of each month, including pages with no transactions, so the running balance reads without gaps.
03
Tell us whose account it is
Give us the account holder's name as the passport spells it. Account numbers, amounts and the currency are copied exactly as printed; the headings and descriptions are translated.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Polish bank statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the bank statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
A page is up to 250 words, and a wyciąg with a full month of card payments can carry more than that on one sheet, so one sheet may count as two pages. A quiet savings account is the opposite: three sheets with a handful of lines each are three pages. Send the PDF and we quote the exact count before you pay.
Can I send the historia operacji I downloaded myself instead of the official wyciąg?
We translate whatever you send, but a consulate or lender usually wants the bank's own wyciąg with the bank name, your name and the account number in the header. A CSV export from e-banking has none of that. Every Polish bank app lets you download the monthly wyciąg as a PDF, and that is the file to send. If a recipient wants an older period, the bank can regenerate it.
I need my US bank statements in Polish for a karta pobytu. Can you do that?
Yes. An urząd wojewódzki deciding a karta pobytu czasowego asks for proof of a stable and regular source of income, and an American living on US savings or a US salary shows that with bank statements in Polish. The wojewoda can require that foreign-language papers come with a sworn translation, and the application checklist on the office's site says whether yours does. We translate into Polish and can notarize the translation.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
