Russian bank statement translation for a US visa interview, an I-134 or I-864 file, a university's proof of funds, a mortgage lender or a landlord, and into Russian for a bank or court in Russia or Kazakhstan. We translate the выписка по счёту, the справка об остатке and card histories from any bank that prints in Russian, with a signed certification.
Most statements now come as a PDF from the bank's app, and a US reader stumbles on the layout, the currency and the sanctions questions before the words.
Formats: Сбербанк Онлайн, Т-Банк, Kaspi
A Sber statement from the app is headed выписка по счёту дебетовой карты, with a footer saying the document was generated in Сбербанк Онлайн and an electronic stamp instead of a wet seal. Tinkoff renamed itself Т-Банк in 2024, so older and newer statements from the same account carry different names, and the translation notes it. A Kazakh Kaspi or Halyk statement is often bilingual, Kazakh and Russian, in tenge. The 20-digit Russian account number, the БИК and the корреспондентский счёт stay as printed.
Operation lines an officer reads
The назначение платежа column carries the story: зачисление заработной платы is salary, перевод по СБП a transfer through the Faster Payments System, внесение наличных a cash deposit, перевод с карты на карту a card-to-card transfer, which is how most Russians move money between relatives. Amounts use a decimal comma and a space for thousands, so 1 250 000,00 ₽ is one million two hundred fifty thousand rubles. Figures are never converted to dollars; a consular officer or underwriter applies their own rate.
Sanctions and the source of funds
Since 2022 Sber, VTB, Alfa and later Gazprombank have been under US sanctions, and a lender or university compliance team reads a Russian statement for where the money sits now and how it got out. Many families move funds through a Kazakh, Armenian or Georgian account first. The translation keeps every counterparty name and bank as printed, in Cyrillic with a transliteration, so the trail from a Moscow salary account to a Kaspi account to a US wire can be followed line by line.
Who is asking for your Russian bank statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS and the National Visa Center
Affidavit of support and consular processing cases take bank statements with a complete English translation and a signed certification. No notarization is needed.
UKVI asks for a certified translation of any document not in English, with the translator's details and the date on it. Statements for the maintenance requirement are the usual request.
A mortgage lender or a landlord checking income accepts a certified translation of your statements. Digital delivery as a PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Russian bank statement.
01
Download the statement rather than photographing it
A PDF from online banking is sharper than a photo and keeps every figure legible. If you only have paper, scan each page flat with the header and the closing balance in frame.
02
Send a complete period
A consulate or a lender names the months it wants. Send every page of each month, including pages with no transactions, so the running balance reads without gaps.
03
Tell us whose account it is
Give us the account holder's name as the passport spells it. Account numbers, amounts and the currency are copied exactly as printed; the headings and descriptions are translated.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Russian bank statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the bank statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
Do you translate the справка об остатке на счёте for a visa or an I-20?
Yes. For a student visa or a B-2 interview people usually bring the one-page справка о наличии средств or справка об остатке на счёте, issued at a branch with a seal and the manager's signature, instead of months of transactions. It states the account holder, the account, the balance in words and figures, and the date. We translate it in full, including the stamp, and it is one page at $25. Bring the Russian original to the interview with the translation.
The statement is hundreds of lines. Do I need all of it?
Usually not. A lender asks for a fixed period, often the last two or three months; an I-864 reviewer wants to see the balance and the large deposits; a university wants the balance on a date. Export only that period from the app, and we translate it in full without skipping lines, because an officer notices a gap. Ask the recipient whether a summary page with the opening and closing balance is enough before paying for every line.
Can you translate a US bank statement into Russian?
Yes. A Russian or Kazakh court in a divorce or alimony case, a bank opening an account for someone with US income, or the ФНС checking a resident's foreign account report may ask for one. Russian authorities usually want the translation certified by a notary in Russia, so ask the recipient before ordering; we translate into Russian and can notarize in the US.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
