Chinese bank statement translation for an F-1 or visitor visa interview, an I-134 or I-864, a university proof of funds, an EB-5 source-of-funds file, a US mortgage underwriter or a landlord. We translate the counter-printed 银行流水, the 对账单 PDF from mobile banking and the 存款证明 from any mainland bank, with a signed certification.
Written for Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified bank statement records
What a mainland bank prints, and what the reader wants from it
Most mainland bank customers never receive a monthly statement in the mail. What you hold was printed at a counter or exported from an app, and the three documents people call a bank statement prove different things.
银行流水 from the counter
The 个人账户交易明细, or 流水, is a transaction list printed at a branch on request, with the bank's red 业务专用章 on every sheet and often a 骑缝章 across the join. Columns are 交易日期, 摘要, 收入 and 支出 or 借 and 贷 for debit and credit, 余额 and 对方户名. The 摘要 field is where the information is: 工资 is salary with the employer named, 利息 interest, 手续费 a fee, and lines through 财付通 or 支付宝 are WeChat Pay and Alipay transfers rather than payments to those companies. We translate every narrative and keep the counterparty names in characters with pinyin.
存款证明 for a visa or a university
A 存款证明 (also called 存款余额证明 or 时点存款证明) is a one-page letter stating the balance on a date, with the amount in figures and in 大写 banker's numerals such as 壹万贰仟, and a freeze period, often three months, during which the money cannot be moved. A consular officer or an I-20 office wants this page; a lender wants the 流水 behind it. The translation renders the 大写 amount in words once, states the currency as CNY, and never converts to dollars.
The foreign exchange quota and the source-of-funds question
Each mainland resident may buy up to 50,000 US dollars of foreign currency a year under the 个人购汇 便利化额度, so a down payment or a tuition wire usually arrives from several relatives' accounts in several transfers. An underwriter, a university or an EB-5 adjudicator then asks for each remitter's 流水 and the 境外汇款申请书 for each wire. We translate the set so the names and amounts line up across accounts, with each remitter's 身份证 number copied as printed.
Who is asking for your Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified bank statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS and the National Visa Center
Affidavit of support and consular processing cases take bank statements with a complete English translation and a signed certification. No notarization is needed.
UKVI asks for a certified translation of any document not in English, with the translator's details and the date on it. Statements for the maintenance requirement are the usual request.
A mortgage lender or a landlord checking income accepts a certified translation of your statements. Digital delivery as a PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified bank statement.
01
Download the statement rather than photographing it
A PDF from online banking is sharper than a photo and keeps every figure legible. If you only have paper, scan each page flat with the header and the closing balance in frame.
02
Send a complete period
A consulate or a lender names the months it wants. Send every page of each month, including pages with no transactions, so the running balance reads without gaps.
03
Tell us whose account it is
Give us the account holder's name as the passport spells it. Account numbers, amounts and the currency are copied exactly as printed; the headings and descriptions are translated.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified bank statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the bank statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
Can I send the PDF from the ICBC or 招商 app instead of a stamped printout?
Yes. The 电子对账单 or 交易明细 exported from mobile banking usually carries the bank's 电子印章 and a verification code, and most US recipients accept it. A consulate or an EB-5 attorney may still want the counter version with a wet 业务章 on each page, so check the checklist first. Either way, send the file rather than a photo of a screen; the 摘要 column is small and a photo loses the characters.
How many pages is a 流水?
A page is up to 250 words, and a sheet with a month of WeChat Pay and Alipay lines runs past that, so one dense sheet can count as two pages. Most banks let you choose a date range at the counter; ask for the months the recipient named and nothing more. Send the file and we quote the count before you pay.
A court in China wants my US statements for a property split. Can you translate them?
Yes. In a 离婚 property division, a Chinese court asks each side to disclose accounts abroad, and a 公证处 handling an inheritance asks for the balance of a US account on the date of death. Both want the statements in Chinese. We translate the account summary and the transaction pages they name, keep amounts in US dollars as printed, and can notarize the translation.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
