Punjabi college application translation for students from Punjab applying to US and Canadian colleges. You write the application in English; we translate the Gurmukhi papers that go with it, from school letters to the land records and passbooks behind the financial proof.
The essays and forms are yours to write in English. What usually needs translating is the paperwork from school and home.
Letters from a Punjabi-medium school
A principal's character certificate, a teacher's recommendation or a letter confirming the medium of instruction may be written in Gurmukhi at a government or Punjabi-medium school. Admissions offices want the original and a certified English translation uploaded together. We translate the letter, the school stamp and the signature block, and keep the school's name the way it appears on your marks cards.
Land as financial proof
For an I-20, a college asks for proof your family can pay. In farming families that often means a fard showing land in a parent's name. An admissions office will not know what a kanal is, so the translation keeps the area as written and adds the acre figure in a translator's note.
Passbooks and affidavits of support
Cooperative bank passbooks in Punjab can have entries and stamps in Gurmukhi, and an affidavit of support from a parent or uncle is often typed in Punjabi on stamp paper. We translate both, with amounts in rupees exactly as written. The college compares those figures to its cost of attendance, so nothing gets rounded or converted.
Who is asking for your Punjabi college application translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Universities and admissions offices
Admissions offices accept a certified translation they can read next to the original. A PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Applicants to US medical programs send transcripts and diplomas through ECFMG, which asks for an English translation of every document that is not in English.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Punjabi college application.
01
Send the whole packet in one order
Transcripts, the diploma, recommendation letters and the grading scale travel together. One order keeps the names, dates and course titles consistent across every page.
02
Separate the records from your essays
Admissions offices want official records translated word for word. Essays and statements are usually written in English by the applicant, so upload only what the school will read as evidence.
03
Count on more than one page per sheet
A transcript or a course description holds a lot of text. The quote counts words, not sheets, so a dense sheet may price as two or three pages.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Punjabi college application translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the college application is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
Should I translate my personal essay from Punjabi?
No. The essay is meant to be your own writing in English, and a translated essay is not that. Write it in English from the start. Translation is for the documents other people issued to you, such as school letters, records and financial papers.
I am applying to a college in Canada. Is the process different?
The college asks for the same sort of documents, but the study permit goes to IRCC, which has its own translation rules. Have the same records translated once to cover both. Our IRCC page explains what IRCC asks for with a translation.
Where do the PSEB marks cards fit in?
They are part of most applications from Punjab, and older or Punjabi-medium marks cards need a translation. Our Punjabi transcript page covers how we handle them. Upload them in the same order and every name and date will match across the file.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
