Arabic tax return translation to English for a US lender, an I-864 asset showing, a visa file or a US accountant filing for a client with income abroad. We translate the Egyptian and Jordanian إقرار ضريبي, Gulf VAT and zakat returns, the tax card and the salary certificates that stand in for a return where there is no income tax.
Most Arab countries have no personal income tax, and that changes what you send
A US form that asks for two years of tax returns assumes everyone files one. In the Gulf nobody does, and in Egypt most employees do not either.
Egypt and Jordan: who files an إقرار
In Egypt the annual إقرار ضريبي is filed with مصلحة الضرائب المصرية by the end of March, now through the e-filing portal, but an employee whose only income is salary does not file; the employer withholds and the proof of income is a stamped salary statement, مفردات مرتب, not a return. Self-employed people and company owners file, and their file includes the البطاقة الضريبية, the tax card, and a شهادة موقف ضريبي showing nothing is owed. Jordan's return goes to دائرة ضريبة الدخل والمبيعات by 30 April. We translate the return with its schedules and the receipt stamp.
The Gulf: salary certificates, VAT and zakat
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman levy no tax on wages, so a Gulf worker has nothing to show a US lender but a شهادة راتب, the employer's salary certificate, stamped by the company and sometimes by the Chamber of Commerce. It states the employer, the job title, the start date and the monthly pay, and we translate it whole with the company stamp. Business owners do file: VAT and zakat returns with هيئة الزكاة والضريبة والجمارك in Saudi Arabia, VAT and now corporate tax returns with the Federal Tax Authority in the UAE.
For the US accountant
A US citizen or green card holder working in Cairo or Riyadh files a Form 1040 every year and claims the foreign earned income exclusion or a credit for tax paid abroad. The CPA needs the Arabic payslips, the Egyptian withholding statement and any tax paid in Egypt or Jordan in English, with the currency named on every line. We translate those as a set so the year adds up.
Who is asking for your Arabic tax return translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS and the National Visa Center
Sponsors filing an affidavit of support, and applicants proving income, submit tax returns with a complete English translation and a signed certification. No notarization is needed.
IRCC accepts a certified translation with the translator's affidavit. Order the certified translation and add notarization if your application guide asks for it.
A mortgage lender or a tax office assessing foreign income accepts a certified translation of the return and its schedules. Ask whether they want a hard copy and add it at checkout.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Arabic tax return.
01
Send the filed return, not the draft
The recipient wants the version the tax office accepted, with its filing stamp, receipt number or online confirmation. Include the confirmation page if your return was filed electronically.
02
Include every schedule and attachment
The income summary on the first page refers to schedules behind it. A consulate or a lender reading the total will look for the pages that support it.
03
Give us the taxpayer name as the passport spells it
Taxpayer numbers, amounts and the currency are copied exactly as printed. Tell us the English spelling of each name on the return so it matches the rest of your file.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Arabic tax return translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the tax return is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
I work in the Gulf and the lender wants two years of tax returns. What do I send?
Tell the lender in writing that your country levies no income tax, and send the translated شهادة راتب for each year, the employment contract and the bank statements showing the salary arrive. Many US lenders have a foreign-income process for exactly this and will take the certificate in place of a return. We translate the set with one certification.
Does USCIS need my Arabic tax return for an I-864?
The sponsor's own US returns are what the I-864 asks for, and those are already in English. An Arabic return matters when the sponsor or the immigrant counts assets or income abroad, such as rental income on a Cairo flat shown on an Egyptian return, or when the sponsor lived in the Gulf and must explain why no foreign tax was paid. In those cases we translate the return and the supporting papers.
Can a US Form 1040 be translated into Arabic for an office abroad?
Yes. An Egyptian or Moroccan tax office asking a resident about US income, a divorce or inheritance court weighing a US spouse's means, or a Saudi or Emirati bank underwriting a US borrower may ask for the Form 1040 in Arabic. We translate the form and its schedules, keep every figure in dollars, and can notarize the translation if the office wants a notarized copy.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
