Chinese tax return translation of the 个人所得税纳税记录 from the 个税 app, the annual 综合所得 reconciliation return, the 完税证明 issued for years before 2019 and a company's 企业所得税年度纳税申报表, for the IRS, a US mortgage lender, a family court, a university or USCIS, and of a Form 1040 into Chinese for a 税务局.

Which Chinese tax paper proves what
Most mainland employees never file a return in the US sense. Tax is withheld monthly by the employer, and the papers that exist are records drawn from the tax bureau's system.
纳税记录, the page that replaced the 完税证明
For tax periods from January 2019 the tax bureau no longer issues the paper 税收完税证明 to individuals; it issues a 纳税记录 instead, generated in the 个人所得税 app or the 自然人电子税务局 with a 电子印章 and a QR code. It lists each month's 所得项目, 收入额 and 已缴税额, with the withholding employer named, and it exists even for months where no tax was due. A US lender asking for two years of foreign returns is usually satisfied by this record. The PDF opens with the last six digits of the 身份证 number; send us the opened file.
The annual 汇算清缴 return
Since the 2019 reform, residents whose 综合所得 (wages, 劳务报酬, 稿酬 and royalties) needs reconciling file an annual return between March and June for the previous year, almost always inside the app. The return shows the 60,000 yuan basic deduction, the 三险一金 social insurance and housing fund deductions, and the 专项附加扣除 for children's schooling, 房贷利息, rent, elderly parents and, since 2022, infants under three. The closing line is 应补税额 or 应退税额, a balance due or a refund. We translate the field names in full and keep the Chinese beside them.
Company returns and the IRS
A business owner holds the 企业所得税年度纳税申报表 (the A类 forms for firms assessed on their books) and quarterly 增值税 returns, each naming the 税务机关 as a city or district 税务局 under the 国家税务总局. For a Form 1116 foreign tax credit the IRS wants proof of the Chinese tax paid, and the 纳税记录 or the older 完税证明 gives the figure by month. Chinese tax years are calendar years, which spares you the apportioning that other countries' returns need.
Who is asking for your Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified tax return translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS and the National Visa Center
Sponsors filing an affidavit of support, and applicants proving income, submit tax returns with a complete English translation and a signed certification. No notarization is needed.
IRCC accepts a certified translation with the translator's affidavit. Order the certified translation and add notarization if your application guide asks for it.
A mortgage lender or a tax office assessing foreign income accepts a certified translation of the return and its schedules. Ask whether they want a hard copy and add it at checkout.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified tax return.
01
Send the filed return, not the draft
The recipient wants the version the tax office accepted, with its filing stamp, receipt number or online confirmation. Include the confirmation page if your return was filed electronically.
02
Include every schedule and attachment
The income summary on the first page refers to schedules behind it. A consulate or a lender reading the total will look for the pages that support it.
03
Give us the taxpayer name as the passport spells it
Taxpayer numbers, amounts and the currency are copied exactly as printed. Tell us the English spelling of each name on the return so it matches the rest of your file.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Chinese (Mandarin) Simplified tax return translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the tax return is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
I only have monthly payslips. Is there a tax document I can get?
Yes, in a few minutes. Open the 个人所得税 app, choose 纳税记录开具, set the months and download the PDF; the employer is not involved. For years before 2019, the local 税务局 or its WeChat service issues the older 完税证明. If you are abroad and cannot log in, a relative with your written authorization can request it at the 办税服务厅.
Does the US lender want the return or the 纳税记录?
Usually the 纳税记录, because it is the bureau's own statement of income and tax by month, paired with a 收入证明 letter from the employer under its 公章. The annual return only adds information for people with more than one income source. Send what the loan officer named; we translate the lot and keep the figures as printed, in CNY, so the underwriter converts at the rate they use.
I live in China and have US income. Will the 税务局 want my 1040 in Chinese?
It may. A mainland resident with US wages, rent or dividends reports that income on the annual return and claims the foreign tax paid as a 境外所得抵免, and the 税务局 may ask for the 1040 and the W-2 or 1099s in Chinese. A Chinese bank, or a 法院 fixing 抚养费 on a parent paid in dollars, asks too. We translate the return and its schedules into Chinese, with the IRS line numbers kept.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
