Ukrainian bank statement translation to English for a visitor visa, a student's proof of funds, an I-864 or an asylum file, from the виписка з рахунку that Приват24, monobank or Ощадбанк generates in the app and the довідка about a balance that a branch issues on paper. Every line is translated, with the hryvnia amounts left as they are.
Most Ukrainian statements now come out of a phone app as a PDF, and a US officer has to be told what each column and each shorthand description means.
App statements and the довідка з банку
A виписка з рахунку from Приват24 or monobank is a PDF listing every transaction for the period you chose, with the bank's electronic seal or a QR code for checking it. A довідка про стан рахунку or довідка про залишок коштів is a different document: a one-page letter from the branch stating the balance on a date, stamped and signed, which consulates often ask for by name. We translate either one under its own title.
Hryvnia, decimal commas and the IBAN
Amounts are in гривня, written UAH, грн or ₴, with a comma before the kopecks: 12 500,00. The translation keeps the figures and the currency and uses a US decimal point so a bank officer reads 12,500.00. We do not convert to dollars; if a form needs a dollar figure, you take it from the National Bank of Ukraine rate for that date and we can note the rate used. The 29-character IBAN beginning UA stays exactly as printed.
Transaction descriptions
Lines read зарахування заробітної плати for a salary credit, переказ на картку for a card-to-card transfer with the sender's masked card number, поповнення for a deposit and зняття готівки for an ATM withdrawal. Merchant names are already in Latin letters and are left alone. State payments such as єПідтримка or a пенсія credit are named so an officer can tell wages from benefits, which matters for an I-864 or a fee waiver.
Who is asking for your Ukrainian bank statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS and the National Visa Center
Affidavit of support and consular processing cases take bank statements with a complete English translation and a signed certification. No notarization is needed.
UKVI asks for a certified translation of any document not in English, with the translator's details and the date on it. Statements for the maintenance requirement are the usual request.
A mortgage lender or a landlord checking income accepts a certified translation of your statements. Digital delivery as a PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Ukrainian bank statement.
01
Download the statement rather than photographing it
A PDF from online banking is sharper than a photo and keeps every figure legible. If you only have paper, scan each page flat with the header and the closing balance in frame.
02
Send a complete period
A consulate or a lender names the months it wants. Send every page of each month, including pages with no transactions, so the running balance reads without gaps.
03
Tell us whose account it is
Give us the account holder's name as the passport spells it. Account numbers, amounts and the currency are copied exactly as printed; the headings and descriptions are translated.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Ukrainian bank statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the bank statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
Do I need a stamped paper statement, or is the app PDF enough?
For USCIS and most US banks the app PDF is enough, because the bank's seal or QR code is printed on it and we reproduce that in the translation. A consulate may ask for a довідка signed at a branch; that is a separate document, and we translate it at the same $25 a page. Ask the recipient before paying the branch for one.
I am a ФОП. Is my business account statement translated the same way?
Yes. A sole proprietor's account is held in your own name with ФОП in front of it, and the statement shows your tax number, the РНОКПП, and incoming payments from clients with their purpose line. We translate ФОП as individual entrepreneur and keep the term in brackets, since the US has no exact match and an officer will see it on your tax return too.
Can you translate a US bank statement into Ukrainian?
Yes. Ukrainian banks, courts and the State Migration Service sometimes ask a person living in the US for proof of income or funds, and we translate a Chase or Bank of America statement into Ukrainian with a signed certification. Dollar amounts stay in dollars, and the account and routing numbers are copied exactly as printed.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
