Polish financial statement translation for a US investor, lender, auditor, court or an L-1 or E-2 petition that needs a Polish company's books in English, and into Polish for a KRS filing, a bank or a tender in Poland. We translate the full sprawozdanie finansowe of a spółka z o.o. or a spółka akcyjna, and we say so when a sole trader asks for a statement that does not exist.
A Polish statutory statement follows the Ustawa o rachunkowości, not US GAAP, and it is filed in a fixed XML layout. The translation has to keep that layout readable in English.
The parts, and the XML filing
A full statement has the wprowadzenie, the bilans, the rachunek zysków i strat, the zestawienie zmian w kapitale własnym and the rachunek przepływów pieniężnych, plus the informacja dodatkowa. Since 2018 companies file it as a structured e-Sprawozdanie through the Repozytorium Dokumentów Finansowych at the KRS, so what you hold is usually a PDF rendered from that XML, with the KRS, NIP and REGON numbers in the header and a kwalifikowany podpis elektroniczny or profil zaufany signature of each board member instead of ink. We translate the signature block and the validation stamp along with the figures.
Line items without a US twin
The bilans lists aktywa trwałe and obrotowe, kapitał (fundusz) własny with its kapitał zapasowy and rezerwowy, and zobowiązania i rezerwy na zobowiązania, in the order of the Act's Załącznik nr 1. The rachunek zysków i strat comes in a wariant porównawczy or kalkulacyjny, and the two group costs differently, so the translation says which it is. Pozostałe przychody operacyjne is other operating income, and zysk (strata) netto is net profit or loss with the brackets kept. A translator does not reclassify; the US accountant reading it does.
Audit report, small company, sole trader
A spółka above the size thresholds in the Act has its statement audited by a biegły rewident, and the sprawozdanie z badania arrives as a separate document with its own opinia. Many companies instead file the shorter format for a jednostka mała or jednostka mikro, with fewer lines and no cash flow statement. A sole trader on a księga przychodów i rozchodów has no sprawozdanie at all, only the tax book and the PIT, and a US lender asking for one is really asking for those.
Who is asking for your Polish financial statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Banks and lenders
A lender assessing a business loan or a foreign buyer's finances accepts a certified translation of the audited statements. Send the complete set so the figures can be checked against the notes.
EB-5 and E-2 petitions document the source of funds with financial statements. USCIS asks for a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Polish financial statement.
01
Send the statements with their notes
The balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statement are read with the notes that explain them. Upload the full report, including the auditor's letter, so nothing is cited that the translation lacks.
02
Keep the tables as tables
A clean PDF, or the spreadsheet the report was made from, lets the translator keep each column where it is. Photos of printed tables are slower and easier to misread.
03
Tell us the audience
A bank reads a statement differently from a tax office or a court. Say in the order notes who will receive it so the accounting terms fit that reader.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Polish financial statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the financial statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
What should go with the statement for an L-1 or E-2 petition?
The petition has to show the Polish company is real, trading and related to the US entity. Clients usually send the sprawozdanie finansowe, the uchwała of the zgromadzenie wspólników approving it, the sprawozdanie z działalności written by the zarząd, and a current odpis z KRS listing the shareholders. We translate each in full; a translation of selected pages is marked as an extract, which an adjudicator may not accept.
Do you translate US financial statements into Polish?
Yes. US statements go into Polish for a Polish bank, a business partner, an investor or a tender under the Prawo zamówień publicznych. One limit: when a foreign company registers an oddział or files documents at the KRS, the court wants a translation by a tłumacz przysięgły from the Ministry of Justice list, and we are not on it. For everything short of the court filing, our certified translation is what people use.
Are the złoty figures converted to dollars?
No. Polish statements are often presented w tys. zł, in thousands of złoty, and the translation keeps that header and every figure as printed, with the decimal comma shown as a decimal point so a US reader does not misread 1,5 as fifteen hundred. Converting would make it a different document. Your accountant converts at the rate the reader needs, usually the year-end or average NBP rate.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
