Vietnamese financial statement translation to English for an EB-5 source-of-funds file, an L-1 petition for a Vietnamese company opening a US office, a US bank, an auditor or a buyer doing due diligence. We translate the full báo cáo tài chính, the audit report and the thuyết minh, and US statements into Vietnamese for an investment licence in Vietnam.
Written for Vietnamese financial statement records
What a báo cáo tài chính under VAS looks like
Vietnamese companies report under Vietnamese Accounting Standards on fixed forms, and the form numbers tell a reader which statement is which before a word is translated.
The four forms: B01, B02, B03 and B09
Under Circular 200 a set has the bảng cân đối kế toán on form B01-DN, the báo cáo kết quả hoạt động kinh doanh on B02-DN, the báo cáo lưu chuyển tiền tệ on B03-DN and the thuyết minh báo cáo tài chính on B09-DN. Small companies file under Circular 133 on the DNN versions. Every line carries a mã số, and the translation keeps the codes so an analyst can match a line to the standard chart. The balance sheet splits tài sản ngắn hạn from tài sản dài hạn and nợ phải trả from vốn chủ sở hữu, and we use the IFRS English for each, with the VAS term where they differ.
Who signs, and the seal
A Vietnamese set is signed three times at the foot: người lập biểu, the preparer, kế toán trưởng, the chief accountant, a post the Accounting Law requires, and the giám đốc or legal representative, under the company's red seal with its mã số thuế. An audited set adds the báo cáo kiểm toán from a licensed firm with the kiểm toán viên's registration number. The translation names each signatory by role, because a US reader seeing chief accountant may not know it is a legal office with its own liability.
Figures, dates and the đơn vị tính
Statements are headed đơn vị tính: VND or đồng, and large numbers run to twelve digits with dots as separators; we keep them in đồng exactly as printed and never convert. The fiscal year is nearly always the calendar year, with the set due to the tax office within 90 days of year end, so a US petition filed in spring may have only the prior year's audited set. Dates are day, month, year. The thuyết minh often runs thirty pages, so we can translate the statements first and the notes a US reviewer asks for.
Who is asking for your Vietnamese financial statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Banks and lenders
A lender assessing a business loan or a foreign buyer's finances accepts a certified translation of the audited statements. Send the complete set so the figures can be checked against the notes.
EB-5 and E-2 petitions document the source of funds with financial statements. USCIS asks for a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Vietnamese financial statement.
01
Send the statements with their notes
The balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statement are read with the notes that explain them. Upload the full report, including the auditor's letter, so nothing is cited that the translation lacks.
02
Keep the tables as tables
A clean PDF, or the spreadsheet the report was made from, lets the translator keep each column where it is. Photos of printed tables are slower and easier to misread.
03
Tell us the audience
A bank reads a statement differently from a tax office or a court. Say in the order notes who will receive it so the accounting terms fit that reader.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Vietnamese financial statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the financial statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
For EB-5, which Vietnamese company papers prove where the money came from?
The source-of-funds file for a business owner usually holds the giấy chứng nhận đăng ký doanh nghiệp, several years of báo cáo tài chính, the tờ khai thuế thu nhập doanh nghiệp and proof of dividends or salary paid to the investor, then the bank records that move the money out. We translate the set in one order so the company name, the tax code and the figures agree across every document.
My company is a hộ kinh doanh and has no financial statement. What can I send?
A hộ kinh doanh, a registered household business, pays thuế khoán and files no báo cáo tài chính. What exists is the giấy chứng nhận đăng ký hộ kinh doanh, the thông báo nộp thuế from the tax office setting the presumptive amount, the biên lai showing it was paid, and the owner's own books or bank statements. We translate those, and the translation says plainly that it is a household business, since a US reader expecting audited accounts needs to know why there are none.
Do you translate US financial statements into Vietnamese for an investment in Vietnam?
Yes. A foreign investor applying for a giấy chứng nhận đăng ký đầu tư files its last two years of financial statements in Vietnamese. The provincial office that reviews the file, the Sở Kế hoạch và Đầu tư until 2025 and now the Sở Tài chính, also wants the US documents apostilled. We translate the statements and the auditor's letter and can notarize the translation. Your Vietnamese lawyer will know whether that office takes it or wants a local one.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
