Tagalog bank statement translation for a visa interview, an affidavit of support, a K-1 or spouse petition, or a US lender checking where a deposit came from. Philippine banks such as BDO, BPI, Landbank and Metrobank issue statements in English. The Filipino is in cooperative passbooks, paluwagan records, handwritten notes and the letters explaining the money.
Filipino money records a bank statement does not cover
Many Filipino households keep part of their savings outside a commercial bank, and an officer asking about funds wants to see that part too.
Cooperative and rural bank passbooks
Savings in a credit cooperative or a rural bank are often kept in a passbook stamped at the counter, with English column headings and handwritten Filipino remarks: hulog for a deposit or instalment, kuha for a withdrawal, utang for a loan balance. Some cooperatives print share capital certificates and member statements in Filipino. We translate each line, keep the running balance as printed, and give the cooperative's name as it appears on its CDA registration.
Paluwagan and informal savings
A paluwagan is a rotating savings group. Each member pays a fixed amount every payday and one member takes the whole pot each round. The record is a handwritten list or a group chat in Filipino or Taglish, and it can explain a large cash deposit that would otherwise look unexplained. We translate the list, the order of turns and the names, and the certification describes it as an informal record, not a bank document.
Remittances and the letters behind them
For a K-1 or spouse visa, transfers from the US petitioner to the beneficiary are evidence of the relationship, and money from a relative working abroad explains a balance. Receipts from remittance centers and e-wallets are usually in English. The letters that go with them, a parent's sulat saying what the money was for or a sworn statement of support, are often in Filipino, and those are what we translate.
Who is asking for your Tagalog bank statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS and the National Visa Center
Affidavit of support and consular processing cases take bank statements with a complete English translation and a signed certification. No notarization is needed.
UKVI asks for a certified translation of any document not in English, with the translator's details and the date on it. Statements for the maintenance requirement are the usual request.
A mortgage lender or a landlord checking income accepts a certified translation of your statements. Digital delivery as a PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Tagalog bank statement.
01
Download the statement rather than photographing it
A PDF from online banking is sharper than a photo and keeps every figure legible. If you only have paper, scan each page flat with the header and the closing balance in frame.
02
Send a complete period
A consulate or a lender names the months it wants. Send every page of each month, including pages with no transactions, so the running balance reads without gaps.
03
Tell us whose account it is
Give us the account holder's name as the passport spells it. Account numbers, amounts and the currency are copied exactly as printed; the headings and descriptions are translated.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Tagalog bank statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the bank statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
My BDO statement is in English. Why would I need a translation?
You probably do not need one for the statement itself. Translate the pages that carry Filipino: a handwritten note from the branch, a bank certification written in Filipino, or the passbook remarks. If everything is English, send it as it is and save the cost.
The consulate asked about large deposits. What should I translate?
Translate the document that explains each deposit, not the statement again. That might be a paluwagan list, a receipt for a motorcycle or a harvest sold, or a sworn statement from the relative who sent the money. Each page of up to 250 words is $25 with a signed certification.
Do you convert peso amounts to dollars?
No. The translation keeps every amount in pesos, with the peso sign and the decimal point exactly as printed. Philippine amounts already use a period for decimals and commas for thousands, as in the US, so nothing is reformatted. Conversion is left to the officer or the lender, who apply their own rate and date.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
