Punjabi vaccination record translation for a US school enrolling a child from Punjab, a university health office clearing a new F-1 student, or a civil surgeon reviewing an I-693. We translate the Gurmukhi Mother and Child Protection Card, older clinic cards and the certificates health workers write when the card is lost.
Children vaccinated in Punjab usually have one card, filled in by hand at the sub-centre or anganwadi. Adults often have nothing at all.
The Gurmukhi MCP card
Punjab prints the ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਾ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਾਰਡ with the vaccine rows spelled out in Gurmukhi letters, so BCG reads ਬੀ.ਸੀ.ਜੀ. and the ANM writes each date by hand beside it. We give each vaccine its English name, keep the abbreviation printed on the card, and write every date with the month in words, so a school nurse does not read 04/06 as April.
When the card is gone
Cards get lost in a move, and many families arrive with no card. The usual replacement is a certificate from the sub-centre or the primary health centre, copied from the immunization register and signed by the medical officer. It is often in Punjabi on plain paper with a round stamp. We translate it line by line, including the register reference, so the reader can see it came from a record and not from memory.
Students and adults
A US college asks for MMR, varicella and meningococcal doses. India's public schedule gives measles and rubella without mumps and has no varicella or meningococcal vaccine, so the Punjabi card covers only part of the list. We translate what the card shows and nothing more. The college or the civil surgeon decides what still has to be given or tested here.
Who is asking for your Punjabi vaccination record translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
USCIS
USCIS asks for a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator. No notarization is needed.
Most ask for a certified translation they can read next to the original. Digital delivery as a PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Punjabi vaccination record.
01
Photograph each page flat and in daylight
Vaccination cards are small and often handwritten. A flat, well-lit photo of every page, including the cover, lets the translator read each date and lot number.
02
Tell us whose record it is
Children's cards often carry a nickname or no surname. Give us the full name as it appears on the passport so the translation matches the rest of the file.
03
Leave vaccine names and lot numbers to us
Trade names, lot numbers and stamps are copied exactly as written, and the headings around them are translated, so a clinic or school can read the schedule without guessing.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Punjabi vaccination record translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the vaccination record is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
My CoWIN COVID certificate is in English. Does it need translating?
Usually not. The CoWIN certificate is printed in English with Hindi, and a US reader can use the English as it stands. If you downloaded a version with Punjabi text, or a page has a Punjabi stamp or handwriting added, send it and we translate the Punjabi and certify the page.
Will the civil surgeon accept a translated Punjabi card?
The civil surgeon needs to see the dates of each dose in English, and a certified translation gives them that. Bring the original card to the exam with our translation. The civil surgeon decides which doses count toward the I-693 requirements and may give the rest at the appointment.
My child had pulse polio drops many times. Why are they not on the card?
Pulse Polio campaign doses are marked with ink on the child's finger, not written on the card. The card shows only the routine OPV doses given at the sub-centre. We translate what is written, so expect fewer polio doses on the translation than you remember.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
