Ukrainian financial statement translation to English for an E-2 or L-1 petition, a US investor, a bank opening an account for a Ukrainian company or a court. We translate the Баланс, the Звіт про фінансові результати, the notes and the auditor's report, keeping the line numbering of the Ukrainian forms so the figures can be traced.
Ukrainian statutory reports are forms, not free text
A Ukrainian company's annual accounts are filed on numbered forms set by the Ministry of Finance, and a US reader needs the form names and the line codes explained, not just the words.
Форма 1 and Форма 2
The Баланс (Звіт про фінансовий стан) is форма 1 and the Звіт про фінансові результати (Звіт про сукупний дохід) is форма 2, both under the national standard НП(С)БО 1. Small enterprises file the shorter форма 1-м and 2-м and micro enterprises 1-мс and 2-мс, with fewer lines. Each line carries a four-digit code, such as 1495 for total equity, and the translation keeps every code beside the English caption so a CPA can match the two documents line by line.
Thousands of hryvnias and the ЄДРПОУ code
Statutory forms are stated in тис. грн, thousands of hryvnias, and the heading says so in a box that is easy to miss. The translation repeats the unit on every page. The header also gives the company's eight-digit ЄДРПОУ registration code, its КВЕД activity code and its legal form, usually ТОВ, which we translate as limited liability company and keep in brackets, and the reporting period written as the day and month the year closed.
National standards, IFRS and the audit report
Most Ukrainian companies report under the national standards; banks, insurers and other public interest entities report under МСФЗ, which is IFRS, and their statements look closer to what a US analyst expects. An аудиторський звіт from a Ukrainian audit firm is translated in full, including the auditor's register number and the opinion paragraph, because a lender or an immigration officer reads the opinion before the numbers.
Who is asking for your Ukrainian financial statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Banks and lenders
A lender assessing a business loan or a foreign buyer's finances accepts a certified translation of the audited statements. Send the complete set so the figures can be checked against the notes.
EB-5 and E-2 petitions document the source of funds with financial statements. USCIS asks for a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Ukrainian financial statement.
01
Send the statements with their notes
The balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statement are read with the notes that explain them. Upload the full report, including the auditor's letter, so nothing is cited that the translation lacks.
02
Keep the tables as tables
A clean PDF, or the spreadsheet the report was made from, lets the translator keep each column where it is. Photos of printed tables are slower and easier to misread.
03
Tell us the audience
A bank reads a statement differently from a tax office or a court. Say in the order notes who will receive it so the accounting terms fit that reader.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Ukrainian financial statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the financial statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
Which statements does an E-2 or L-1 petition need from a Ukrainian company?
Typically the last two or three years of форма 1 and форма 2, the tax returns filed with the ДПС, and bank statements showing the funds moved to the US business. For an L-1 the parent company's statements prove it is active and can support a US office. We translate the full set so each year's figures line up.
I am a ФОП with no balance sheet. What do I send instead?
A sole proprietor in Ukraine does not prepare financial statements. The documents that show the business are the податкова декларація платника єдиного податку, the книга обліку доходів and the business bank statements. We translate those, and label them in English as what they are, so a US officer does not go looking for a balance sheet that was never required.
Can you translate US company financials into Ukrainian?
Yes. A US parent opening a ТОВ in Ukraine, bidding in a Prozorro tender or opening an account at a Ukrainian bank is asked for its audited statements or its tax return in Ukrainian. We translate GAAP statements into Ukrainian with a signed certification, and keep the US line captions in brackets where Ukrainian forms have no matching line.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
