Hindi financial statement translation for an E-2 or EB-5 source-of-funds file, an I-864 that counts a business, a US lender or a court. Company accounts under the Companies Act are prepared in English. The Hindi records are the cooperative society's audit report, the proprietorship's cash book and ledger, and the property papers that support a net worth figure.
An audited balance sheet from a chartered accountant in Kanpur or Jaipur is in English with the auditor's UDIN under the signature. The documents around it are often not.
Cash book, ledger and bahi-khata
A kirana shop, a transport firm or a brick kiln in Uttar Pradesh keeps its रोकड़ बही and खाता बही in Hindi, often in a bound bahi written up by a munim, and the local accountant draws a Hindi trading and profit and loss account from them. When an immigration lawyer has to show where an investor's money came from, these pages are the evidence. We translate them line by line, with each khata name kept as a heading and the figures regrouped from lakhs.
Cooperative societies
A सहकारी समिति, a dairy cooperative, a credit society or a sugarcane growers' society, files accounts audited by the state cooperative department, and the auditor's report and its schedules on share capital, loans to members and deposits are in Hindi. A member who lists the society's dividends or a share in its assets on a US form, or who is winding up a parent's holdings in it, needs those schedules in English with the auditor's remarks translated, not only the totals.
The papers behind a net worth certificate
A chartered accountant's net worth certificate is in English, but it rests on a Hindi बैनामा from the sub-registrar, a खतौनी from the tehsil showing the family's landholding, a government-approved valuer's report and the receipts for a shop's goodwill. For an EB-5 petition USCIS traces the funds to their source, so the Hindi deed and the land record are translated alongside the certificate rather than instead of it, and the figures on each must agree.
Who is asking for your Hindi financial statement translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Banks and lenders
A lender assessing a business loan or a foreign buyer's finances accepts a certified translation of the audited statements. Send the complete set so the figures can be checked against the notes.
EB-5 and E-2 petitions document the source of funds with financial statements. USCIS asks for a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Hindi financial statement.
01
Send the statements with their notes
The balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statement are read with the notes that explain them. Upload the full report, including the auditor's letter, so nothing is cited that the translation lacks.
02
Keep the tables as tables
A clean PDF, or the spreadsheet the report was made from, lets the translator keep each column where it is. Photos of printed tables are slower and easier to misread.
03
Tell us the audience
A bank reads a statement differently from a tax office or a court. Say in the order notes who will receive it so the accounting terms fit that reader.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Hindi financial statement translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the financial statement is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
Do you translate the Hindi edition of a company's annual report?
Public sector companies publish their annual report in Hindi and English, and for a US reader the English edition is the one to file. We translate the Hindi edition when it is the only copy you hold, or when a court or an auditor wants to confirm that the two editions say the same thing, and we note which edition the translation was made from.
The balance sheet is headed ₹ in lakhs. How does the translation show that?
The header stays, with a translator's note that a lakh is 100,000 and a crore is 10,000,000. The figures stay in rupees and in the unit the accountant used, so each schedule and its total can still be checked against the Hindi original line by line. Converting to dollars is left to the reader.
The old ledgers are not in ordinary Devanagari. Can you read them?
Perhaps. Older traders' books in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan were often kept in Mahajani, also called Muriya or Sarrafi, a script written mostly without vowel marks that few readers now know. Send a few sample pages before you order, and we tell you whether we can translate them reliably. Ledgers in ordinary Devanagari need no check first.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
