Hindi mortgage application translation for a US lender's underwriting file, when part of the borrower's down payment, income or assets sits in India. The loan forms are American. The Hindi pages are the दान पत्र from a parent, the किरायानामा on a flat in Lucknow, the बैनामा for the house in the village and the land record that proves it is yours.
Indian documents that end up in a US underwriting file
Underwriters want every page in English with a certified translation, and they want the figures to match the bank records. These are the pages Hindi-speaking borrowers send most.
A gift from parents in India
The lender's gift letter is signed in English, but the trail of the money runs through Hindi. The donor often executes a दान पत्र or an affidavit on stamp paper saying the money is a gift and not a loan, the donor's own passbook shows the withdrawal, and the bank's remittance papers, which are in English, show the money leaving India. We translate the deed or the affidavit and the Hindi passbook pages so the underwriter can follow the money from the parent's account to the borrower's.
Rental income from property in India
A किरायानामा is usually made for eleven months so that it does not have to be registered, and it names the landlord, the tenant, the monthly rent, the security deposit and who pays the house tax. An underwriter who is willing to count foreign rental income wants the agreement and the rent arriving in the account. The translation keeps the eleven-month term and the rupee figures exactly; whether the income counts is the lender's decision, and the translation does not argue it.
Proof the property is yours
A बैनामा from the sub-registrar describes the plot by its चौहद्दी, the four boundaries given as the names of the neighbours on each side, and states the price and the stamp duty paid on it. Agricultural land is proved by the खतौनी from the tehsil, a flat by the deed and the nagar nigam house tax receipt, and the value by a government-approved valuer's report. We translate the boundaries as written, because they identify the plot the way a legal description does on a US deed.
Who is asking for your Hindi mortgage application translation?
The translation is the same. What changes is whether the recipient wants anything added to it.
Banks and mortgage lenders
A US lender underwriting a buyer with foreign income or assets accepts a certified translation of each document. Digital delivery as a PDF is usually enough; ask for a hard copy if they want one.
Buying property in another country usually means the bank or the notary there wants your US documents translated, notarized and sometimes apostilled. Tell us the country in your order notes.
A joint mortgage is common evidence in a marriage-based petition. USCIS asks for a complete English translation and a signed certification from the translator. No notarization is needed.
Three things that save a day of back and forth on a Hindi mortgage application.
01
Gather the lender's checklist first
Lenders ask for pay slips, bank statements, tax returns and proof of assets alongside the application. Upload the set in one order so the names and figures are consistent across every document.
02
Send the pages that support the numbers
An employment letter or a property deed is often referenced on the form. Include each supporting document in full, with stamps and signatures, rather than only the summary page.
03
Tell us the spelling and the currency
Give us the applicant names as the passport spells them. Amounts stay in the original currency and the translation does not convert them, so ask the lender whether they want a conversion note.
Details and pricing
What is included in a Hindi mortgage application translation
One price per page covers the translation and its certification. A page is up to 250 words, and the quote tells you the page count before you pay.
Everything on the mortgage application is translated, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes. Tell us the English spelling you use for each name when you order.
Which Indian documents does a lender usually ask for?
Ask the loan officer for the list before ordering. The usual requests are the donor's documents for a gift, the statements and the deed for an asset you are declaring, and the agreement for rental income. Each is translated as its own document in one order, and the certification names every page so the underwriter can tie the English to the original.
My down payment comes from selling land in India. What should I send?
The registered sale deed showing the price you received, the passbook or statement where the money landed, and the bank's record of the transfer to the US. The underwriter wants the amount on the deed to match the credit in the account. If the buyer paid in instalments, send each receipt, since every credit has to be explained.
Will the lender accept your translation?
Lenders ask for a certified translation of any foreign document, and each of ours comes with a signed certification. If your lender wants it notarized, add notarization at checkout, and add a mailed hard copy if the lender wants paper. If the lender has its own certification wording, send it with the order.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation is $25 per page, with a page counted as up to 250 words. Notarization, a mailed physical copy and an apostille are optional and priced separately.
How long does a certified translation take?
Standard turnaround starts at 24 hours and depends on the length and language of your documents. If you have a deadline, include it in your quote request.
